The Dhutanga Retreat Center: The Dhutanga group from Wat Hua Koo undertook a pilgrimage into the Thung Yai Naresuan Forest in Kanchanaburi Province, traversing paths that extended to Tak Province.
“Pilgrimage following the footsteps of the Buddha and his disciples during the Buddhist era is a profound and beautiful practice. It allows one to explore the inner nature of the mind and the outer nature of the world, learning the truths of the Three Marks of Existence (impermanence, suffering, and non-self) through direct experience. Walking the path of Dharma helps refine the mind, cultivate concentration, and gain insights into the teachings of nature. This practice is a profound way of preserving Buddhism in its deepest essence.”
Wat Hua Koo is located at No. 36, Moo 1, Lat Krabang 54 Alley, Sriwaree Noi Road, Sirisa Chorakhe Noi Subdistrict, Bang Sao Thong District, Samut Prakan Province.
It is affiliated with the Mahanikaya sect of the Buddhist clergy.
Wat Huakoo supports the dissemination of Buddhism without any charges through the following services:

History
Wat Huakoo
Wat Huakoo is located at No. 36, Moo 1, Soi Lat Krabang 54, Sri Waree Noi Road, Si Sa Jor Khao Noi Subdistrict, Bang Sao Thong District, Samut Prakan Province. It is affiliated with the Maha Nikaya Order of the Sangha.
- The temple land covers an area of 23 rai, 1 ngan, and 56 square wah (approximately 9.3 acres).
Boundaries :
- North: 295 meters, adjacent to Khlong Hua Ta Khe and Nong Ngoo Hao canals.
- South: 307 meters, adjacent to private land.
- East: 260 meters, adjacent to Khlong Chor Khao Noi canal, with a length of 36 meters.
- West: 39 meters, adjacent to Khlong Nong Ngoo Hao canal.
Historical Structures within the Temple Grounds
- Old Ubosot (Ordination Hall):
Width 8 meters, length 30 meters, constructed in 1942 (B.E. 2485). - New Ubosot:
Width 10 meters, length 28 meters, construction started in 1993 (B.E. 2536) and completed in 1996 (B.E. 2539). - Monks’ Quarters (Kuti):
A total of 15 buildings - Prayer Hall:
Constructed in 1979 (B.E. 2522). - Sala Kan Phrien (Assembly Hall):
Construction began in 1993 (B.E. 2536) and was completed in 1996 (B.E. 2539). - Dharma Pavilion, Crematorium, and Three Funeral Service Halls.
- Chedi (Stupa):
Constructed in 1993 (B.E. 2536).
Religious Artifacts
The temple houses the largest Buddha image in Samut Prakan Province, known as Luang Por Khiao Sukho Phuttho Phakwa. It measures 9.19 meters across the lap and stands 13 meters tall. It was constructed in 1977 (B.E. 2520).
The vihara (sanctuary hall) for Luang Por Khiao Sukho Phuttho Phakwa was completed in 1983 (B.E. 2526) to replace the previous deteriorated structure.
Wat Huakoo was established around 1866 (B.E. 2409), although the name of its founder is not recorded. Locals commonly referred to it as Wat Koo or Wat Si Sa Koo.
Significant restoration and development efforts began in 1977 (B.E. 2520) under the leadership of the abbot, Phra Kru Paisan Phatthan Sophon, leading to considerable growth and improvement of the temple.
In 1979 (B.E. 2522), the temple adopted its new official name, Wat Huakoo Wararam.
Wat Huakoo was first granted the royal boundary marker (Wisungkhamasima) in 1899 (B.E. 2442), followed by a subsequent grant on August 14, 1942 (B.E. 2485), and most recently on November 27, 1995 (B.E. 2538).
Education
- The temple has been offering Buddhist doctrinal studies in the Dhamma division since 1933 (B.E. 2476).
- Comprehensive Buddhist studies have been provided since 1994 (B.E. 2537).
- A preschool center was established in 1982 (B.E. 2525).
- Construction of the Wat Huakoo school library, including flooring, playground, and school buildings.
- Wat Huakoo Health Station.
- The Sunday Buddhist Education Center was founded in 1991 (B.E. 2534).
- The Buddhist Community Center (Buddha Mangka Center) was established in 1998 (B.E. 2541).
